they/them & she/her

I have always cherished the relationship between healing and creativity. Whether it was pushing paint on paper or punching thread through fabric, creative practices have offered me a safe place for expression when words, family, or community could not.  As a maker, kathak student, and social worker, I am dedicated to discovering ways to bridge the worlds of care work, creative, and community-oriented work.

over the past few years, I have explored a variety of creative practices including linocut, zines, collage, fiber arts, graphic design, and dance. each medium has invited deeper reflection, learning, and connection with self. through this exploration, I am finding new frameworks for examining my lived experiences and conceptualizing liberation.

if art is personal, and the personal is political, our creative expression bears the responsibility of calling attention to the state of our world. “good art” challenges us to imagine, a new, liberated world.

I hope to continue learning and building my creative practices, so I can be a better listener, storyteller, careworker, friend, and community member. Together, I hope we can imagine new ways of being, and new worlds where dignity and freedom are considered mundane.

in my free time, you can find me practicing my embroidery skills or trying to win the trust of the neighborhood cat.
